Jazz Dance

Showcasing individual style and originality

Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television shows, movies, music videos and commercials. People enjoy watching Jazz dancers, as the dancing is fun and energetic.

Pupils from the age of 5 are offered classes in Jazz. These classes are most non syllabus.

Jazz dancing is a form of dance that showcases a dancer’s individual style and originality. Every Jazz dancer interprets and executes moves and steps in their own way. This type of dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps, quick turns and high kicks.

To excel in Jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace and balance.

Flexibility and strength very important for a dancer and these are a key focus in this class. The students will be taught various routines and in some classes have the opportunity to develop their own choreographic skills.

The Jazz classes are divided info Junior (5-8 years), Inter (9-12 years) and Senior (13+) .

It is compulsory for the competition team to attend Jazz when they reach 5 years old.
